Peat Hyperthermia Therapy

Peat Hyperthermia Therapy (PHT)

Peat Hyperthermia Therapy (PHT) combines medically-formulated peat with heat for systemic and localized applications. Chronic diseases like cancer, arthritis, diabetes and heart disease are related to a decrease in circulation and an increased accumulation of toxins. By providing cellular nutrition, PHT enhances the body’s own systems of growth and repair, while supporting the body’s essential detoxification system.

The high temperature used in PHT mobilizes toxins from the fat cells where they are stored. Enhanced circulation carries them out of the tissues and eliminates them through the five organs of excretion. PHT increases circulation, boosts the immune system, relieves pain in aching muscles and joints, relaxes muscles, decreases inflammation and detoxifies the body.

What is Peat?

Peat is carbonized vegetable matter. It contains a variety of essential minerals, trace elements, enzymes, organic acids, and other natural substances that are formed from the biological degradation of plant material.

HOC uses peat that is extracted from a secluded region in Canada and processed under strict, sterile conditions. It is consistently monitored by laboratory.

HOC Peat products have carrier molecules to increase absorption of natural minerals and its medicinal elements through the skin. HOC physicians have created a medical peat formulation that adds sulphur, methyl salicylate, pine essential oil and glycerin. These natural ingredients relieve pain, promote an anti-inflammatory response and relax muscles.

How PHT Works

Healthy cells need oxygen, nutrients, circulation and a good detoxification system to perform optimally. PHT helps to reverse cellular damage by dramatically increasing circulation and cellular fluids, allowing oxygen and nutrients to reach the cells, and helping wastes and toxins to leave the cells. Peat has a water carrying capacity that allows it to maintain either hot or cold temperatures. This capacity creates the prolonged vasodilatation and increased circulation that lasts for several hours after the peat bath has ended. It also allows the naturally occurring substances in peat to be absorbed into the body, while excreting the toxins and wastes that have accumulated in the tissues.

PHT Detoxifies

PHT plays an essential role in detoxification of the body. Each day we are exposed to a multitude of toxins in the environment—through the water, ground, air and even in our food. Our bodies try to process and eliminate these toxins, but with the large levels of chemicals and toxins in the environment, our bodies are not able to keep up with such a toxic load. Studies have shown that human tissue contains 400-600 chemical residues.

Detoxification is essential. Many forms of cancer and chronic disease have been clearly linked to environmental toxins, and the incidence of these diseases has increased dramatically over time. Heavy metal toxicities can impair our immune system, affect our cognitive functioning and cause skin reactions and other diseases.

Most toxins are stored in our fat tissue. The intense heat from PHT mobilizes the toxins stored in our tissues, increases our circulation, and allows for toxin excretion, mainly through perspiration. Removal of toxins from our bodies improves cellular function, increases our circulation and immune system, and enhances our general health and well being.

PHT has the ability to aid in the elimination of stored heavy metals—mercury, cadmium, lead, arsenic, and tin—as well as other highly toxic sub-stances and compounds from our bodies. The humic acid found in peat has the ability to bind benzopyrene, the carcinogenic compound found in cigarettes, thus possibly inhibiting its mutagenic effects. Fulvic acid in peat absorbs aluminum, making PHT potentially important in treatment of Alzheimer's disease.

Weight Loss as a Side-Effect

As fat cells are mobilized to release toxins, they are burned as energy. With prolonged use the heat also increases the metabolic rate, resulting in sustained weight loss in a detoxification program.

PHT Treats Chronic Disease

In addition to general detoxification effects, PHT effectively treats chronic disease. North American Pain Centers have had excellent results using PHT for arthritis, carpal tunnel syndrome, fibromyalgia, PMS and chronic pain syndromes. It allows people to recover faster and return to their daily activities without the use of drugs to mask pain. Pain relief can be immediate after just one peat treatment, and after several treatments that pain relief becomes longer term and can often last for years. Professional athletes treat sports injuries using peat’s natural muscle relaxant and anti-inflammatory properties.

Circulatory Problems—As we age, heart disease and stress constrict blood flow through our arteries. PHT reverses this aging process, delivering rich oxygen and nutrients to cells through enhanced circulation.

Arthritis and Chronic Pain—Peat's anti-inflammatory and pain-relieving properties, combined with increased circulation and removal of toxic substances, can reduce the pain caused by these conditions. Peat also stabilizes collagen tissue, resulting in increased mobility and range of motion, allowing a return to normal functioning.

Cancer—PHT’s high heat renders cancer cells unstable and unable to efficiently replicate. It removes the toxins linked to cancer and increases immune support through its stimulating effect on white blood cells and natural killer cells. It has also been shown to enhance both chemo and radiation therapy.

Colds and Flus—With increased immune support and direct anti-viral actions, PHT fights infection. Peat also helps to relieve muscle aches associated with colds and flus.
